Tamara

Continuous Improvement Manager

On her experience joining Nestlé Waters North America

Before joining Nestlé Waters North America, Tamara held positions at the University of New Hampshire's Environmental Research Group studying the creation of drinking water disinfection by-products, and as a Senior Land Use Planner at the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development administering Coastal Zone Management Grants to towns.

Tamara had visited Poland Spring on a site visit when she was working as assistant engineer with the Maine Drinking Water Program for the Maine Department of Health Engineering. Later, when engaged in a search for a new position, she notes "I sent off my resume and a few months later started as a quality assurance resource. The idea that I could have a career in an area that I studied (drinking water treatment) AND live in Maine still blows me away. So many people have to travel away to work in the fields that they are really interested in."

On her expectations about joining the company

"I did not really know what to expect, but I think it's safe to say that working here has more than met my expectations. It's been a wild ride where I've been able to work in a number of different and very interesting areas."

On one of her favorite experiences at Nestlé Waters North America

"I’d have to say working at the Hollis factory. Our team provided input on the design since the engineering group was in the process of standardizing the factory. Personally, I was responsible for designing the micro and wet chemistry lab, and as Quality Assurance Manager I was able to design and hire all the people for my department. We had a great team that developed everything from layout to policies. We had a great start up and the factory continues to run well today. It was a privilege and a special opportunity to be so involved with that initiative."
