On rewarding opportunities for career growth and promotion
"I began my career here in Home and Office Direct Sales, managing a local territory in Houston, Texas. After a couple of years in the field, I was promoted to a role in Finance for the South Texas Home and Office Delivery business. In 1999, I moved to the Retail Sales side of our business. I spent the first year in Retail managing the retail operations of our Supermarket broker network in Texas. After a year in that role, I was given the opportunity to take on the challenge of Supermarket Region Manager for the Mid-South Region, which was based in Memphis, Tennessee and spanned nine states. After being in that role for over three years, I moved to Tampa, Florida to manage the Southeast Availability team.
"In 2004, I had the opportunity to take a leadership role in a new corporate initiative. We put together a sales team to call on customers in the Food Service channel. I moved into the role of Food Service Region Account Manager and am managing the Food Service sales team in Florida. It is very rewarding for me to watch a team built from the ground up learn and grow in the organization."
